Job Title: Executive Assistant to the Executive Director
Location: Atlanta Georgia – MLK Historic District
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: CEO

The Historic District Development Corporation (HDDC) is dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of historic neighborhoods. Through strategic development, community engagement, and preservation initiatives, HDDC aims to foster sustainable community growth while maintaining the cultural heritage of our districts.

Job Summary:
The Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director of HDDC. This role is critical in facilitating the efficiency of our leadership and the effectiveness of our community development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who excels at managing multiple tasks, possesses excellent communication skills, and shares our passion for community revitalization.

Key Responsibilities:
– Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on matters pertaining to the Office of the Executive Director.
– Organize and coordinate executive outreach and external relations efforts, including managing an active calendar of appointments; composing and preparing correspondence; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for meetings.
– Plan, coordinate, and ensure the Executive Director’s schedule is followed and respected, providing a “gatekeeper” and “gateway” role to ensure optimal use of the Executive Director’s time.
– Work closely with the Executive Director to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
– Manage a variety of special projects for the Executive Director, some of which may have organizational impact.
– Successfully complete critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting acknowledgment letters, personal correspondence, and other tasks that facilitate the Executive Director’s ability to effectively lead the company.
– Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in real estate experience preferred.
– Proven experience as an executive assistant or other relevant administrative support experience.
– In-depth understanding of entire MS Office suite and administrative tools.
– Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities.
– Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
– A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
– Professional level verbal and written communications skills.
